Support The Museum

First meeting of the Birthday Club, June 1922. Begun by Sanna Tralnes on her 50th birthday (in center, holding cake) to raise money for those in need in the community. Each member gave as many pennies as their age during the birthday month. This club still meets.

We hope you will support our efforts to create new exhibits and valuable programs, preserve the memories and history that are unique to Lopez, and maintain the Museum and Port Stanley Schoolhouse. More than 70% of our operating funds come from museum members in the form of membership dues and program donations.

A group of men, women, and children stand on the porch of the Lopez Store and U.S. Post Office which belonged to C.T. Butler. The Butler family lived above the store. The dock is to the right. Victoria Hutchenson is on the right in a white dress. The man in the doorway is perhaps her brother Walter Hutchenson.
